Salmon Fishing

 

  Salmon begin arriving in the waters of Icy Straits in late May, with the first of the spawner King salmon. This early run is usually gone by mid June, but feeder Kings remain all summer in varying numbers.

Pink and Chum salmon begin to run in mid July, and are followed by the Silvers in later July. The salmon season peaks in August, when all four species are available in their greatest numbers.
